ARRIVED IN CARRIACOU WITH A FREAKING CAT

Poor Dizzy Sox
did not like the trip up to Carriacou. We motored up lee side with the usual fluky winds then bliss descended when we shut the motor off and all was quiet except pitiful wails of an unhappy cat. He came up into the cockpit and snuggled up to his daddy for some TLC.

Mind you he was freaked out last night as well because I did something I had not done for several years I went into a marina. The anchorage was just too rolly for me. However the experience was not enjoyed much by Dizzy, Any movement on the dock sent him down below like a rocket.

So he got a little extra TLC and playtime with Patricia.

We got into Tyrell Bay and enjoyed this slightly unusual sunset with the lower clouds going to a faded purple but the towering cumulus was a prisitne white.

BOUND FOR CARRIACOU

We are off North on Sunday bound for Tyrell Bay. The electronics guy seems to have fixed the autopilot which means I don't get to spend 3000$ on a new one.

The bays are clearing out and the squadrons are leaving some going North Like us but a few are making the break West for the ABCs and on to the canal.

PATRICIA MAKES IT - DIZZY IS HAPPY - THE AUTOPILOT IS NOT - BUT THE WATER IS WARM AND INVITING

Patricia, who is joining in Grenada and will help me sail up to Antigua in time for Classic week finally made it onto a flight after a 5 day nightmare in Miami with all sorts of adventures and two missed flights.

However she arrived with goodies including a
catnip mouse.

Dizzy loves his new cat toy.

Mind you he is also happy jumping onto Patricia through the hatch when he is in midnight NINJA mode. HAIIIEEEEAH !!

I have been dealing with what I thought was going to be a simple problem with the autopilot. The usual issue is worn brushes in the linear drive. However I found a loose physical feature which was easily tightened and the brushes were OK so I put it back together and checked it out.

Hooray it worked.

Reconnected it to the electronics and BOO nothing moved.
I have a electronics whizz looking at the autopilot computer and I should find out soon if he can fix it. If it can not then it will be expensive as the model I have is no longer made.

We have had a some good snorkeling
as the wind and swell have gone down, the viz has improved and the good sites are not breaking anymore.

In fact the viz is so good now Dizzy can spot fish at the side of the boat. It is worrying when he gets into wiggle bottom mode and looks like he might be thinking about fish tacos!
